Canadian festival picks films from Iran

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The Regina International Film Festival and Awards has picked a lineup of Iranian films and animated movies to compete in different sections of the festival running from August 15 to 18 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

“The Last Class” by Mohammad Kheimehgahi, “Reporter” by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan, and “Are You Volleyball?” by Mohammad Bakhshi will go on screen in the International shorts, the organizers have announced.

Animate movies “Balance” and “Frame” by Barzan Rostami, “The Fox” by Sadeq Javadi, and “Mother” by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan will compete in the Animation shorts section.

“Golnesa” by Sattar Chamanigol, “Twenty-one Days Later” by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan, “The Human Comedy” by Mohammad-Hadi Karimi, as well as “Endless” by Maryam Zahirimehr are the Iranian films competing in the International feature section.

The festival selections come from 35 countries.

Leading Indian actress Nandita Das will chair the international jury.

Ravida Din, the director general of National film board of Canada, will chair the Canadian jury.
