Iranian shorts win awards at UN Mobile Film Festival

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Two Iranian films have won awards at the 14th edition of the Mobile Film Festival, a UN online competition dedicated to one-minute films.

Hamidreza Zakiani was named best director for “Hush”, while “Maiden” written and directed by Fatemeh Saeidi and Saeid Aqakhani won the best screenplay award during the closing ceremony held in Paris, the organizers announced on Wednesday.

“Annisa” by Barry Putra from Indonesia won the international grand prize and “Cycle” by Bálint Klopfstein-László from Hungary received the Europe grand prize.

“Bon Appetite” by Saman Haqiqivand and “How to Clean a Window with Newspaper?” co-directed by Kiarash Ardeshirpur and Amirhassan Nofely, both from Iran, also was screened at the festival.

The United Nations organized the festival in collaboration with the European Union and Youtube from November 6 to 27 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
