TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Iranian feature film, ‘The Badger,’ directed by Kazem Mollaee, won an award at the Fargo Film Festival in the US.

Mollaee’s latest directorial experience grabbed the honorary diploma of the best film at the 2021 edition of the event, ifilmtv.com reported.

Starring Vishka Asayesh, the film is the story of a 40-year-old woman who is facing a difficult challenge in her private life at a time close to her second marriage.

In addition to Asayesh, the film’s cast includes Gohar Kheirandish, Hassan Majouni, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Behnoush Bakhtiyari, and Reza Behboudi.

The film has previously won the Best Narrative Film Award at the 27th edition of the Austin Film Festival in Texas.

In July 2020, the film was premiered at the 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival.

‘The Badger’ has already been screened at a number of global events including the 13th edition of Sofia MENAR Film Festival in Bulgaria, and the 17th annual Bahamas International Film Festival.

The Fargo Film Festival is the premier annual moving picture event in the state of North Dakota. Featuring more than 100 movies every March, the festival showcases works from all over the world and routinely programs movies that go on to receive distribution.

In recent years, the festival has hosted several Oscar-nominated filmmakers and films.
