Iran’s Cannes contenders will hit Sarajevo Film Festival’s screens

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Iran’s Cannes contenders , ‘A Hero’ and ‘Hit the Road,’ will be screened at the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Asghar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ and Panah Panahi’s debut feature, ‘Hit the Road,’ will be screened at the Open Air program of the festival, which will run from August 13 to 20.

Iran’s two-time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ won the Cannes Film Festival’s Grand Prix award, jointly with ‘Compartment No. 6,’ Juho Kuosmanen’s follow-up to his debut, ‘The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki’.

Panah Panahi’s ‘Hit the Road’ also competed at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes.

Florian Zeller’s ‘The Father,’ Anders Thomas Jensen’s ‘Riders of Justice,’ Michel Franco’s ‘New Order’ will be screened at this section of the festival. In addition, the Open Air program will feature the classic ‘Paris, Texas’ (1984) by the winner of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, Wim Wenders, to whom this year’s program is dedicated.

The Sarajevo Film Festival is the premier and largest film festival in Southeast Europe, and is one of the largest film festivals in Europe. It was founded in Sarajevo in 1995 during the siege of Sarajevo in the Bosnian War, and brings international and local celebrities to Sarajevo every year.
