Iranart:Raed Faridzadeh, who is the deputy director for International Affairs of the foundation, said that the market will host nine Iranian organizations, institutions and companies under the framework of “Iranian Cinema Umbrella”, IRNA reported.

“For the 2022 version of the festival, it was thought that after going through the coronavirus pandemic conditions, we will be able to participate physically in the German festival. However, with the spread of the Omicron variant in Europe and Germany it is possible that the Berlin Film Market would either be postponed or set up in the form of a virtual market,” he said.

Further information has yet to be announced, Faridzadeh noted.

The 72nd edition of the festival will be held from February 10 to 20.

Every year, Iranian cinema takes part in prestigious film events, such as EFM, with the aim of promoting and distributing Iranian films, communicating and collaborating with important film festivals, finding potential co-production opportunities, expanding international cooperation and so forth.

The first hybrid edition of the European Film Market was held in March 2021 and the 71st edition of Berlinale International Film Festival was held physically from June 9 to 20 in Berlin.
