Sofia University to host intl. conference on Persian poet Ferdowsi
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The Sofia University of St. Kliment Ohridski will be hosting an international conference on Persian poet Ferdowsi during May, the chairman of the conference Ivo Panov has announced.
Entitled “Ferdowsi as Depicted in Persian Culture & Literature”, the conference will be held on May 15.
This is the 3rd international conference on Oriental Studies held at the university, said Panov, who is also the Head of Department of Iranian Studies of the university.
“Structure and content of Ferdowsi’s masterpiece Shahnameh, social concepts and human positions in Shahnameh, dimensions of the impacts of Shahnameh on the world, as well as thought, environment and ideas of Ferdowsi are the topics to be discussed during the conference.
The event has been co-organized by Sofia University in cooperation with the Center for Iran, the Balkans and Central European Studies (IBCE).
World experts on Ferdowsi are expected to attend the conference.
