Third Book of ‘Last Fiction’ Series Released

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- The graphic novel ‘Jamshid, Sunset, Volume 1’ written by Ashkan Rahgozar has recently been published by Hooraksh Publication, affiliated to a namesake animation studio.

It is the third book of ‘The Last Fiction’ series after the two volumes of ‘Jamshid, Sunrise,’ released almost a year ago, Mehr News Agency reported. The series are based on tales in the Shahnameh (Book of Kings), the epic poems written by celebrated Persian poet Ferdowsi (940-1020). The books deal with the decline of the kingdom of Jamshid, a Shahnameh character. Hooraksh Studio, founded in 2005, is currently giving the final touches to a 2D animation ‘The Last Fiction’ the story of which happens during the reign of Jamshid when he decides to mobilize an army to destroy the devil and his minions once and for all. Jamshid, together with an army of his finest soldiers, sets out for the northern lands never to return. Meanwhile, a villain named ‘Zahak’ rises to power and brings darkness to his land.  The studio has been working on this project since 2010. In the course of making the animation, in 2013, the work was able to win recognition and be presented as one of the six best ongoing projects at the Annecy Festival in France (the main annual event in the world of animation).  In 2016 it was acclaimed as one of the four best animated films undergoing production in the world and was invited by Annecy and Cannes to the event of ‘Marché du film’.
