Iran, Italy to develop cultural ties to mark 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations

TEHRAN.(Iranart) –Iran and Italy will develop their cultural cooperation to mark 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In an online meeting on Saturday, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Italy Mohammad-Taqi Amini and the president of the University of Perugia in Italy, Maurizio Oliviero, discussed expansion of cultural ties on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Italy.

Amini referred to the long history of cultural activities between the two countries, which were done based on the cultural agreement and the executive program of cultural exchanges.

He also voiced Iran’s readiness for joint cultural cooperation with the European country.

Noting that Iran and Italy, as two countries that played a very important role in the history of human civilization and, furthermore, have a high capacity to further strengthen their cultural relations, Amini asked for strengthening the expansion of cultural relations with the University of Perugia.

The Iranian envoy noted the establishment of Persian language chairs in Italian universities, Persian language teaching, the Iran Chamber at the University of Turin, translation activities, book publishing, and cultural meetings as the most important tasks of our country’s cultural activities in Italy.
