TEHRAN.(Iranart) -Iran will hold a special virtual program on April 21 to commemorate the renowned Persian poet and mark Sa’di National Day.

Iran’s southwestern province of Fars is organizing the program which is titled, ‘The Smell of Sa’di’s Sayings’.

Director of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and poet, researcher, and professor at Shiraz University Kavoos Hassanli will discuss the poems of Sa’di and aesthetic elements in his writings.

Other cultural figures including Mohammad Moradi, Naghmeh Mostashar, and Mostafa Mohaddassi-Khorasani will read Sa’di’s poems in the meeting which is supervised by Gholamreza Kafi, professor at Shiraz University.

The prominent Persian poet Sa’di was born in Shiraz and is one of the Persian masters of ghazal (a lyric poem with a fixed number of verses and a repeated rhyme, typically on the theme of love, and normally set to music).

‘Kulliyat-e Sa’di’ is the most important book by the Persian poet which is made up of ‘Bustan’ (The Orchard) and ‘Golestan’ (The Rose Garden), whose real name was Abu-Muhammad Muslih ed-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi, commonly known as Sa’di.
