Aqili Releases New Album
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – T raditional singer Salar Aqili has released a new album named “Idol Maker”.
Songs are composed by oud player and composer Ali Pazhouheshgar. Aqili sings and actor Amin Tarokh recites in the album, IMNA reported on its Persian website.
Nariman band has performed the pieces of the album. It is a traditional group founded in 1995 and led by santur player Golnaz Jamshidi.
The album has 11 tracks based on selected poems by the 13th century Persian poet, scholar and mystic Rumi.
“Songs of the album tell a love story narrated by Rumi. The collection takes us on a journey from earthly compassion to heavenly love,” Pazhouheshgar says.
