Iran’s Traditional and Ritual Theater Festival postponed

TEHRAN.(Iranart) –The 20th Traditional and Ritual Theater Festival of Iran was postponed due to the fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, said the secretary of the festival.

Davoud Fat’hali-Beygi made the statement during a meeting held for the necessity of postponing the festival, IRNA reported.

The festival was scheduled to be held on October 18. However, the spread of the virus has postponed the date to November 30.

It is planned that the festival be held online, but if the virus situation gets better, parts of the event could be held in person, Fat’hali-Beygi said.

Organized under the auspices of the Center for Ritual and Traditional Theater, the Iranian Association of Performing Arts and the Performing Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the festival promotes research in reviewing and identifying traditional origins of the performing arts.
