Director of Iran’s Dramatic Arts Center Qader Ashena said that theatrical halls (for staging plays) throughout the Iranian capital Tehran will be opened to the public as of today.
He said that, fortunately, ever-increasing vaccination of the people changed Tehran’s color from red (very high-risk) to orange (high-risk).
Theater halls were forced to close as of early July with the advent of the fifth wave of the virus pandemic in the country, Ashena noted.
Previously, Ashena said on August 22 that although cinemas have been reopened, it was not clear whether theatrical halls would follow suit because they did not receive any announcement; they were to remain closed until Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance made an announcement.
