Omar Khayyam Photo Exhibit at Art Academy
TEHRAN.(Iranart) - T he fifth edition of Khayyam International Exhibition of Photography will open on Friday at Iranian Academy of the Arts in Tehran.
The exhibition is organized in cooperation with Focus Photo Club, affiliated to the cultural institute of Khayyam House of Art, which is the executive arm of FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique) in Iran.
It will commence by awarding the best photos in six categories, namely open monochrome, open color, city, creative, travel and telephone.
Dedicated to the best photos selected from among 18,000 shots submitted to the festival by artists from 68 countries, the exhibit will run through August 23, ISNA reported.
The event honors the Persian polymath and poet Omar Khayyam (1048–1131), who wrote treatises on mechanics, geography, mineralogy, music, climatology and theology. It seeks to send a message of peace and friendship from Iranian artists to the comity of nations.
Academy of Arts is located at No. 1552 at the intersection of Valiasr and Taleqani streets.
