TEHRAN.(Iranart)- Iran, with 17 works by 12 Iranian artists, has accounted for 40% of the total works in Christie’s Auction.

With the second season of international auctions approaching in 2020, the Christie’s Auction will sell 60 art pieces by contemporary and modern Middle Eastern artists online. During this period of the twentieth-century Middle Eastern artists' auction, works by artists from Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Sudan, etc. will be hammered, and Iran, with 17 works by 12 Iranian artists, has accounted for 40% of the total works in this auction.

Among Middle Eastern art celebrities, Farhad Moshiri's painting "Once Upon a Time" with a base price of 220 to 280 thousand pounds is the most expensive work of the auction period, and a painting by Sohrab Sepehri with a base price of 100 to 150 thousand is in fifth place. Hossein Zandehroudi has more works in this event with 4 works in Christie's 2020 auction.

Farhad Moshiri's painting "Once Upon a Time" will be offered with a base price of 220 to 280 thousand pounds, a painting from the collection of Numbers by this artist has also been presented with a base price of 75 to 95 thousand pounds.

A painting by Sohrab Sepehri titled 'Kashan's houses' with a base price of 100 to 150 thousand and a work by Masoud Arabshahi with the base price of 80 to 120 thousand pounds offered in this auction.

Four works by Hossein Zandehroudi, one of the record holders of Christie's past Middle Eastern auctions, will be presented during this period. Bahman Mohasses, another record-breaking artist from the Christie's Middle East auction, also has two works in this auction period, entitled "Inanimate Nature and Fish" with a base price of 35 to 45 thousand and "Apricot" painting with a base price of 10 to 15 thousand pounds.

Nasrollah Afjeh's calligraphy "blue wave" with a base price of 30 to 40 thousand pounds; Reza Derakhshani's painting entitled "Blue Rain Hunting" with a base price of 25 to 40 thousand pounds; "Painting No. 1" by Munir Farmanfarmaeian with a price of 12 to 18 thousand pounds, "Small Square No. 7" by Taher Asad Bakhtiyari with a base price of 8 to 12 thousand pounds and a painting by Farideh Lashaei with a base price of 4 to 6 thousand pounds are the other works of Iranians who will be presented at the Christie 2020 Modern and Contemporary Middle East Art Auction.

Christie's Middle East Modern and Contemporary Art Auction will be held online from 11 to 24 November 2020.
