International Tourism and Handicrafts Exhibition opens in Tehran

TEHRAN.(Iranart) –The Tehran International Tourism and Handicrafts Exhibition opened in a ceremony on Tuesday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Iran’s Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts Ali-Asghar Mounesan.

Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism and Foreign Trade Alí Padrón is the special guest of the exhibition, IRNA reported.

Venezuelan Minister Alí Padrón on Tuesday highlighted friendly ties between Tehran and Caracas, describing Iran as his own home.

“We consider Iran as our home. Iran is our friend, fortunately, there are good relations between Iran and Venezuela,” he said on arrival in Tehran.

Padron is scheduled to meet with Mounesan to sign an agreement on a 2020-2024 tourism plan and will visit a number of people involved in Iran’s tourism industry.

On the second day of his trip, he will travel to Kerman Province to visit the Shahzadeh Mahan Historical Garden and the desert of Shahdad.

On the following day, he will travel to Isfahan to visit some cultural and historical sites in the province.

Visiting Golestan Palace, the National Museum of Iran, and Milad Tower in Tehran are among his plans during his four-day trip to Iran.

The exhibition is being held in person and online, from February 23-26, following health protocols, said Deputy Minister of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Vali Teymouri.

He said 12,000 meters had been planned for the booths of the exhibition, adding that over 160 tourism companies are present at the exhibition.

According to the International Organization of Exhibitions, the health protocols of holding an exhibition during the conditions of the COVID-19 outbreak have been put on the agenda, he stressed.

Visiting the exhibition in person will be controlled. Only a specific number of people are allowed to visit each day, he added.

Currently, a two-dimensional and three-dimensional platform is provided for both exhibitors and visitors, he said.

He added that similar to real exhibitions, there are opportunities for registration, a price list, and online chats.
