Iran Artworks at Bonhams London Auction

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Fifteen artworks by Iranian artists went under the hammer at Bonhams Auction in London on Wednesday.

Works by artists from Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon,Syria, Iraq, Sudan, etc. offered in the Bonhams auction. The three expensive works in the auction belonged to Iraqi artists. A work by Iraq artist Kadhim Hayder took first place, earning € 698,739.Jewad Selim’s work "Mother and Child" becoming the second top seller at Bonhams auction, earning € 518,146. Shakir Hassan Al Said took third place, earning €204,516.

Out of the 21 Iranian works presented, 15 were sold for €443,098.

“Zamin Larzeh” by Hossein Zenderoudi took fourth place, earning €189,928.

Untitled Painting  by Manouchehr Yekta sold for €61,369.

A work by Hossein Kazemi and a painting by Mohsen Vaziri Moghaddam sold for €  43,918.

A sculpture by Parviz Tanavoli was hammered for  €29,375 and  a painting by Sedaghat Jabbari went for  €23,558.

Sadegh Tabriz's "Two Riding Men" painting sold for 8,900  and another work by this artist entitled "Three Women on Horseback" sold for 7,416.

Massoud Arabshahi's work sold for€ 8,158 and a painting by Behjat Sadr  went for 5,933.

Two painting by Sirak Melkonian were sold at € 4,153, and 4,450

Three works by painter Ardeshir Mohasses went under the hammer for € 6,675,2,966, and 2,966.

Also, works by Faramarz Pilaram, Jazeh Tabatabai, Farhad Moshiri, Reza Derakhshani, Nasser Oveisi, Ardeshir Mohasses and Nusratullah Muslimian were not sold in this auction.
