TEHRAN –(Iranart)-Works by Mohammad-Ali Famori and Arezou Ramezani are on display at the 17th Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF).

Famori and Ramezani are attending the Greek event with ‘Markaba’ and ‘Aberration of Inner Child,’ respectively.

The festival opened on September 20 and will run through October 31. The in-person edition of the event will be from October 13 to 17, according to adaf.gr.

The event features video art, animation, web art, digital image, performances, VR, Games, Talks, and Workshops.

Famori’s work was chosen because it depicts the six stages of the creation of heaven and earth before the creation of man on the seventh day.

“We all lose touch with our inner child at one time or another. Being bombarded by information and data on a daily basis keeps us so occupied and distracts us from our core values and integrity. It has become harder to deflect the noises of everyday life, an arduous journey to enlighten and protect one’s inner child. I used glitch to demonstrate the subject of lost and weary souls in today’s world and the memories that can be continuously edited, constructed, and reconstructed that have left us, but we still cling onto them. My work deploys a dreamy world and shows the tug-o-war within oneself to go from the dark side to the bright side, trying to stay aware while being surrounded by too many noises,” the festival wrote about Ramezani’s work.

Famori is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist, art director and curator with a demonstrated history of working in the fine art industry. He has specialized in spearheading exhibitions and creative projects including running the first glitch video art group exhibition in Iran. He has more than 10 years of experience in art directing, graphic design, photography and visual arts, as well as exhibiting his works in 28 international exhibitions including ‘The Identity Architecture Exhibition’ at Plaza Casanardi Gallery in Venice, Italy and ‘The Art Box’ in Basel, Switzerland and a solo exhibition at Seyhoun Gallery in Tehran, Iran.

Ramezani is an animator, painter, podcaster (Arezou Art) working in a wide range of styles. She developed her evocative style in painting with inks throughout the years and selling her artworks worldwide. After making her first animation, ‘Sock and Buskin,’ which reflects the duality of human nature, she got into experimental animation.

The ADAF is an annual international festival that takes place in Athens, with the aim of bringing together the digital arts community with a broader audience. The festival was established in 2005, under the title Athens Video Art Festival, as an initiative of the non-profit organization Multitrab Productions.
