TEHRAN –(Iranart) - Five folios from a rare manuscript of the Shahnameh, the epic masterpiece of the Persian poet Ferdowsi, was the top lot of the 4th Baran Auction, which is dedicated to the sale of calligraphic paintings and calligraphy works.
The fourth specialized auction of calligraphy, Iranian and Islamic art, Baran auction, was held at the Rayzan International Conference Center in Tehran on Friday. Founded and managed by Mahboubeh Kazemi Doulabi, Baran Auction offered 94 works of art to buyers and art collectors in its fourth edition, which ended with the sale of 69 works for astonishing 26.26 billion toman (over $2 million).
