Iranian Film Festival Australia to commemorate Kambozia Partovi

TEHRAN. (Iranart) –Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA) will commemorate the late Iranian director and screenwriter Kambozia Partovi.

The closing ceremony of the 10th edition of the event will commemorate the late filmmaker, screening his latest directorial experience ‘Truck,’ ifilmtv.com reported.

Born in 1955, the co-writer of ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God,’ directed by Majid Majidi, died on November 24, 2020, from the coronavirus.

Partovi had written famous scripts including, ‘Truck,’ ‘Ferrari’, ‘Transit Café’ and ‘I'm Taraneh, 15’.

The director and writer had won many awards at many national and international film festivals including the House of Cinema Celebration, the Chicago International Film Festival, the Fajr Film Festival, the Dhaka Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival.

The Iranian Film Festival Australia helps better familiarize the Australian audience with the Iranian culture, featuring Iranian stories in movie theaters in the various cities of Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held online from May 26 to June 16 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
