“Dad’ and ‘My Heart” crowned best at Emerging Lens Cultural Film Festival

TEHRAN.(Iranart) -Iranian short films, "Dad’ and ‘My Heart" has won the award for Best Animation Award at the 11th edition of the Emerging Lens Cultural Film Festival in Canada.

‘Dad,’ directed by Mohammad Keivan-Marz, received the Best Animation Award, while the Audience Choice Award of the Canadian event went to ‘My Heart,’ directed by Yasser Talebi.

‘My Heart’ is a two-minute animation with a touching story about the love students have for their teacher who is sick in a hospital.

‘Dad’ is a seven-minute animation about a young boy who tries to attract his depressed father’s attention.

The Emerging Lens festival also screened the three-minute, ‘Blood Feud,’ directed by Sina Rezaei, which shows that the world always finds a way to ruin beautiful things, and the five-minute film,​ ‘The Mask,’ directed by Saba Qassemi, who doesn’t think that adults can see correctly from behind their masks.

Starting in 2010, the Emerging Lens festival aims to acknowledge the educational power of video, media arts and theater that is rich in wonder, honest compassion and wisdom; to present the unique work of cultural filmmakers and to create a larger appreciation for their cultural stories; and to be a training ground for our young storytellers, filmmakers and performers.
