TEHRAN – (Iranart)-The 29th edition of the ‘100 Works, 100 Artists’ exhibition was extended to September 22 due to the great reception of visitors, said the director of Golestan Gallery in Tehran.

Lili Golestan added that the online exhibition began with 495 artworks, by 489 artists, on August 6, and is now displaying 580 artworks.

The exhibition was supposed to end on Sept. 8. However, large number of sales and visitors made us extend the date of the event, she said.

Golestan added that 130 artworks were sold during the initial date of the display.

Instagram and other media play a very important part in attracting visitors, she said, adding that 60 percent of the works displayed on Instagram were sold.

It is the second year the exhibition is being held online due to the spread of coronavirus in Iran.

Following the detection of the first cases of the COVID-19 infection in the country in February 2020, Golestan canceled all its exhibits for about four months.

“Most of the artworks on display at the exhibition are from young artists from Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad and Shiraz,” she said.

After this exhibition the gallery will host a solo exhibition every two weeks, she said, regarding future exhibitions of the gallery.
