The weeklong event is aimed at showcasing the films of the Official Selection around the world.

For 13 years, this “Semana de Cine” has been hosted by the Festival de Cannes, the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) in conjunction with Ventana Sur, the leading Latin American film market.

On November 29, ‘Verdens Verste Menneske’ (The Worst Person in the World) directed by Joachim Trier will be screened.

‘Vortex,’ directed by Gaspar Noe, will be screened on November 30 and ‘Hytti Nro 6’ (Compartment No. 6), directed by Juho Kuosmanen on December 1.

On December 4, ‘Drive My Car,’ directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, will be screened at the event.

Farhadi’s film is the story of Rahim who is in prison because of a debt he was unable to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint against the payment of part of the sum. But things don’t go as planned, IMDB wrote.

Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh, Fereshteh Sadr-Orafai and Sarina Farhadi are actors in the drama.

‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France. The prize was also shared by Juho Kuosmanen’s ‘Compartment No. 6’.

‘A Hero’ is also selected as Iran’s entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2022 Academy Awards.

This is the fifth time Farhadi is representing Iran at the Oscars. He has already won the Oscars twice for ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’.
