• TEHRAN – (Iranart)- The 10th edition of the Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts, displaying over 90 works from Iran and different countries, opened in Tehran on Tuesday. Deputy Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Mojtaba Hosseini and Head of Visual Arts Department Majid Mollanorouzi attended the ceremony at Saba Cultural Center. The festival is presided over by Mojtaba Aghaei.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The 93-year-old doyenne of Iranian art, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, has a new museum dedicated to her oeuvre in Tehran. The Monir Museum, which opened Friday in Tehran University Negarestan, a 19th-century former palace and gardens, is the first institution in Iran devoted to a single female artist. Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed Mohammad Mojtaba Hosseini, Majid Mollanorouzi, Mohammad Beheshti, Majid Sarsangi, Farbod Farahi and a number of A-list artists attended the opening ceremony.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) - A joint performance of Italian World Youth orchestra and Tehran Symphony Orchestra was held in the Iranian capital on Thursday, December 7, with Culture Minister Seyyed Abbas Salehi and his deputy Ali Mordkhani in attendance. This is while the Tehran Symphony Orchestra choir and Italy's World Youth Orchestra had already performed "Where Art Thou, Divine Martyrs" composed by Hushang Kamkar, at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome on December 3. The joint concert repeated itself in Tehran on December 6. Razmik Ohanian conducted the choir as Tehran Symphony Orchestra conductor Shahrdad Rowhani was in Rome to attend the performance, which was conducted by Damiano Giuranna of the World Youth Orchestra. Compositions from the album "Persian Garden" by Rowhani were also performed at the concert in Tehran. Under a new agreement between the Roudaki Foundation, Iranian Culture Ministry, and Italian World Youth Orchestra, Maestro Giuranna held a series of master classes at the Culture and Art Applied Sciences University in Tehran in February 2017. Ali Moradkhani, Farzad Talebi, Farhad Fakhreddini, Houshang Kamkar, and Ali Akbar Safipour were the special guests of the Tehran event on Thursday.

  • TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Tehran has a brand new theater complex. Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani inaugurated Shanou theater complex in a special ceremony attended by artists and enthusiasts. The new theater complex is curated by Ghotbeddin Sadeghi.

  • Iranart- Marking the 84th birthday of Davoud Rashidi, an exhibition was held at the City Theatre in tribute to the late Iranian actor. Culture Minister Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani, Lawmaker Ahmad Mazeni, Tehran City Council Ahmad Masjed Jamei, Director of Veteran Artists Institute Seyed Abbas Azimi as well as veteran actors and actresses such as Ali Nasirian, Sirous Ebrahimzadeh, Marzieh Broumand, Ali Mosafa, Ali Dehkordi and Amir Esbati were in attendance. The ceremony was moderated by daughter Leyla Rashidi, who also cut a birthday cake in memory of her father.
