Films from Iran to go on screen at intl. festivals

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A number of Iranian films have been selected to go on screen at several international events around the world.

The Midday Event”, also known as “High Noon Story”, by director Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian and “A Man of Integrity” by Mohammad Rasulof will be screened at the International Crime and Punishment Film Festival underway in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The two films will be screened in the Scale of Justice category of the festival, the organizers have announced.

“The Midday Event” is a political drama that features the terrorist atrocity of the Mojahedin-e-Khalq Organization in Iran of the 1980s, and “A Man of Integrity” tells a story about a goldfish farmer who is battling corporate oppression in northern Iran.

“Majan” by director Rahman Seifi-Azad, which is about a couple dealing with a great challenge, will go on screen in the Silver Akbuzat Film Festival, to be held in Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan in Russia, from December 17 to 19. 

In addition, “International”, a three-minute animated movie by Ali Zare, will be competing in the VI Curtastik, a festival screening short films on fantasy or horror happenings that will be running in Barcelona, Spain from November 24 to 26.

“International” shows a choir group that is attacked by terrorists but keeps on singing until it is overcome.
