Ali Shirazi and 4 Artworks in Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation's artistic Heritage

IranArt : Part of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation's artistic heritage is currently on display.

This priceless find features four pieces by renowned Iranian calligrapher Ali Shirazi, as well as notable pieces by Middle Eastern artists such as the Emirati artists Abdul Qader Al Rais, Najat Makki, and Mohammed Al Qassab and the Syrian artist Fateh Al Modarres.

The introduction of Ali Shirazi is discussed in the 200-page book of the Al Owais Treasure Exhibition, which was just released:

" Karam Ali Shirazi is a skilled calligrapher renowned for his expertise in the traditional Nasta'liq style of script, particularly excelling in direct writing. He has made a significant impact on Dubai's Arabic calligraphy exhibitions, conducting workshops and showcasing his calligraphy paintings.

In recent works, Shirazi has ventured into creating large-sized lettering in Nasta'liq script, incorporating floral decorations as backgrounds, reflecting a modernist approach aligned with the broader Iranian calligraphic tradition.

Ali Shirazi studied calligraphy under the guidance of esteemed calligraphy masters, namely Gholam Hossein Amirkhani and Moin Al Isfahani. By being trained by the two best-known contemporary calligraphy masters, Shirazi acquired a deep understanding of the origins, rules, and styles of Arabic calligraphy.

His exceptional skill qualified him for the membership of the Calligraphers Society in Isfahan, where he even served as its head for some time. Furthermore, Shirazi has been a former member of the Supreme Shura Calligraphy Society in Iran. He imparts his knowledge by teaching calligraphy at the Iranian Calligraphers Society in both Isfahan and Tehran.

Ali Shirazi has showcased his talent through solo exhibitions inside and outside his country. His participation extends to numerous group exhibitions, where his calligraphic prowess has been featured. Beyond his artistic and cultural contributions, Shirazi authored the book

"uhfat Karman", "Astan Janan Group," "Qom Mehr Group," and "Kol Afshan. Group". Additionally, Shirazi has demonstrated his versatility by producing a video for the Sun Network in the US. "

The winners of the 18th edition of the Al Owais Foundation Awards, which are regarded as extremely significant in the Arab art world, were recently announced.

The Deira neighborhood of Dubai's Al Rigga Road is home to the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation.
