Ali Shahani states that both plays, aside from their different artistic elements, are also family-friendly in terms of narrative and storytelling.
What is particularly noteworthy about these two works by Ali Shahani is that, as artistic director, he is introducing two well-known artistic figures for the first time in the role of director: Behzad Abdi and Sina Razani.
Behzad Abdi, a renowned musician with an impressive background in film scoring—recipient of two Crystal Simorgh awards for music at the Fajr Film Festival, and known for his trilogy of collaborations with Behrouz Gharibpour (the operas of Ashura, Rumi, and Hafez)—has directed the play “Bach” for the first time.
And Sina Razani, who has studied theater academically and is well remembered by the public for his roles in cinema, theater, and television, is also directing a play for the first time: “Taming the Wooden Horse.”
_ The Return of “Bach” from Tajikistan
The new round of performances for the play “Bach”, directed by Behzad Abdi, began on April 28 at 7:30 PM at the Nofel Loshato Theater.
According to Iran Theater, the play “Bach”, written and directed by Behzad Abdi and produced by Ali Shahani, has returned to the stage at the Nofel Loshato Theater after successful initial runs at the Heilaaj Theater and in Tajikistan.
This theatrical piece, which marks Behzad Abdi’s directorial debut, was among the audience favorites during its previous run and is now being staged again in the new year. It tells the story of a theater where Forough and Bach meet, and where reality and dreams intertwine, revealing hidden secrets along the way.
