The organizers had arranged two performances for the play and Eidenbenz didn’t accept to cancel them due to her respect for the theatergoers who had booked tickets in advance.

Therefore, the play was performed on Friday night, but she failed to continue for the second performance scheduled for Saturday.

Ticket refunds for the Saturday night will be available at the point of purchase, the organizers of the festival said.

“Tschägg” is an attempt to approach “inner raucousness” through dance. The performance questions our perception of outsiders by questioning authenticity, tourism and globalization.

The Fajr International Theater Festival will come to an end by honoring top performances at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall this evening.
