Chakad Theater performs ISIS comedy “Shertel” in Warsaw
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Chakad Theater from Iran performed “Shertel”, a contemporary Iranian comedy about ISIS, in the Polish capital Warsaw last week.
Written and directed by Ali-Asghar Khatibzadeh, the performance took place on August 22 at the Teatr 2 Druga Strefa, major private theater in Warsaw, a public relations team announced in a press release on Tuesday.
The performance tells the story of Shertel, a poor and homeless musician who plays guitar on the streets to make a living. One day, one of his random listeners gives the musician a lot of money. Shertel quickly befriends the stranger, who then tells him about ISIS, money, paradise and God. The stranger’s stories make such an impression on Shertel that the musician joins the ISIS.
A cast composed of Hossein Hessamnejad and Mostafa Shahcheragh performed the play in a way that is understandable to every nation.
Khatibzadeh also displayed a selection of his conceptual masks made for the play during an exhibition organized on the sidelines of the performance.
