Chaotic World Depicted in Vakili’s Artworks in e1 Art Gallery

A solo exhibition by artist Bita Vakili is underway at e1 art gallery in Tehran, the proceeds of which will go to charity.

iranart:  Titled ‘Passageways’, the exhibit showcases 12 large artworks created by Vakili using a mix of different materials on canvas, and illustrates today’s chaotic world, ISNA reported.

Through her unique style, the artist has created pictures of metallic and western urban development elements with eastern symbols, in an effort to bring East and West closer.

The collection challenges the concept of the “clash of cultures” with an optimistic view, particularly of the rich Iranian culture, and brings together roads and bridges alongside fetuses representing life.

Born in Tehran, Vakili, 43, holds a master’s degree in painting. So far, she has held eight solo shows and participated in several group exhibitions in Tehran, Zanjan, Kerman and Sanandaj as well as abroad in Vancouver and Dubai.

The entire proceeds from the sale of artworks will be donated to the Nikan Charity Foundation in Tehran, which supports charitable initiatives, including education of and assistance to people who are unable to work or have social and/or economic problems.

The exhibit is open to the public until February 10 at the gallery located at No. 1, Hamid Alley, Lesani St., Jebheh St., Mahdiyeh St., Elahiyeh neighborhood.
